The California Highway Patrol identifies the man killed in that strange accident last Thursday evening. You may remember, a tire came off a fifth wheel trailer, flew across the median and struck a vehicle in the southbound direction.
It killed 82-year-old Peter Mays of San Miguel. He was in a Jeep Cherokee driven by his wife when the tire struck the passenger side of the jeep.
That crash remains under investigation.
