Three non-profits file a petition to close the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant.
The groups filing paper work with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission include Mothers for Peace, Friends of the Earth and The Environmental Working Group.
They say allowing Diablo to continue operations would be improper for the NRC.
