The Paso Robles Office of Emergency Services has issued a warning to those living in the Salinas river bed to evacuate. The steady rain will make the riverbed hazardous.

Several thousand people turned out for the Annual Polar Bear Dip at the Cayucos pier on New Year’s Day. More than one thousand people took a dip in the ocean. There was also an Avila Beach Polar Bear Plunge. That Avila Beach event is now in it’s 11th year.
More than 4,250 gallons of sewage were released in the ocean near Avila Beach on New Year’s Eve. That was caused by a sewage line blockage. The spill started around 5 Saturday afternoon and was stopped at 6:25. Part of Avila Beach was closed on New Year’s day because of that sewage leak.
