The Second Chance at Love in Templeton is rescuing large dogs and then finding homes for them. They’ve operated for several decades on 20 acres in west Templeton. If you’ve been to downtown Atascadero recently, you may have noticed the increased police patrols, and the reduced number of squatters. After vandalism forced closure of the Colony House museum, police increased patrols of the downtown area to make it safer, reduce drug activity and eliminate vandalism in the area around the sunken gardens.
