Highway 1 Reopens 11.01.2021

Highway one reopens to Big Sur. A rock and mud slide closed the way near Salmon Creek Wednesday morning. That’s north of Ragged Point, but south of Gorda. A rainstorm hit the area Sunday night and Monday. And there were a series of earthquakes Monday, as well, which may have contributed to the rock slide.

Four Dead Deer Found 10.29.2021

Four deer found dead on a ranch near Pozo after the storm Sunday night. The deer may have been struck by lightning. Biologists removed the carcasses of the buck and three does.
