Winemaker Tobin James is gifting a city park to Paso Robles. James bought a vacant lot at 18th and Spring street, once the site of Rose’s Chevron. He’s going to landscape it with trees, plants and seating for the public. The lot sits across the street from the Paso Market Walk, which is under construction.

Supervisor John Peschong says he’s feeling fine after a mild heart attack 12 days ago. Peschong says he’s rebounded quickly. He was walking two hours after a medical procedure at French hospital in San Luis, and is already back on the job. Peschong is more excited about a ruling by the California state supreme court.…

Forecasters say we’ll enjoy sunshine this weekend, but look for rain by the middle of next week. A storm expected to bring over an inch of rain next week, beginning late Tuesday. The heaviest rainfall will be Wednesday. The showers may continue intermittently through next weekend.
