Gas prices level off at a national average of $3.01 per gallon. Trilby Lundberg says the highest average price was in the San Francisco Bay Area. $3.81 per gallon. The lowest was in Baton Rouge, Louisiana $2.54. The average price for diesel is $3.27 a gallon.
