Conservation groups are concerned about mountain lion populations in the state. The center for biological diversity and the mountain lion foundation filing a petition to get the mountain lion listed as threatened or endangered under California’s endangered species act. Listing the lions as threatened or endangered would stimulate protections under the California environmental quality act.
