Today is the final day of a series of controlled burns at Camp Roberts. Fire crews began the burns Wednesday. Officials say smoke can be seen on highway 101 and surrounding communities. The burn is maintained by the Camp Roberts fire department.
Chimney rock road will be closed today from approximately 7 am to 7 pm for storm related repairs. Public works crews and Souza Construction are completing the final stage to install a temporary bridge over the washout on Chimney Rock road. Travelers are advised to find alternate routes.
